Join us for an interactive panel discussion about SDG 16 and the interchanges between ART, HUMAN RIGHTS and MIGRATION.

Social Impact Movement will be hosting our end-of-the-year event celebrating the Sustainable Development Goals in Miami with partners and local leaders, while highlighting the synergies between art and human rights and migration patterns of Venezuelans, Nicaraguans and Syrian populations.
Inspired by the work developed by Milagros Bello, Ph.D. from the Curator’s Voice Art Projects, we will delve into an art lecture on contemporary art and the work of Venezuelan artists focusing on the Venezuelan crisis.
SIM will be announcing the SDG 16 Ambassador; Ms. Liuba Abreu. She is the Founder and CEO of Across Humanity, a nonprofit that advocates for human rights around the world.

The event will have the presence of artists, human rights defenders and local experts in migration topics. Our distinguished panel includes:
Milagros Bello, Ph.D. – Director and Chief Curator at Curator’s Voice Art Projects
Liuba Abreu – Founder – Across Humanity & SIM SDG 16 Ambassador
Manuel Abaunza, Ph.D. – Executive Director – CPDH Miami – Comision Permanente de Derechos Humanos
Christa Tawil – Zaytouna Founder

You will leave with a copy of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and with the understanding that human rights are not only a guide on the right way to achieve SDG implementation, but the smart way to accelerate more sustainable and equitable development.
– Tickets include wine, delicious Middle Eastern appetizers from Zaytouna and a gallery tour guided by Milagros Bello, Ph.D.

What are the SDGs – Sustainable Development Goals?
On 25 September 2015, world leaders adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change by 2030. Find more info about the Global Goals at
