Our purpose is to PROMOTE the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in Miami. To highlight achievements, share ideas, start conversations while educating our Miami community of Leaders and Changemakers on the SDGS.
ABOUT SIM
SIM was founded in 2016 to connect people to social impact opportunities. We have been building partnerships and spreading awareness of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals since early 2018 and have contributed to inspiring Miami companies, universities, and nonprofits to adopt the SDGs as part of their CSR Corporate Social Responsibility commitments. In 2020 we became members of the fast-growing global movement of social innovators, Catalyst 2030.
In 2021 we joined the United Nations Global Compact. With the broad-based support of all 193 participant countries of the United Nations General Assembly, the UN Global Compact is the single global normative authority and reference point for action and leadership within a growing global corporate sustainability movement. In 2022 we became members of The Council for Inclusive Capitalism, a movement of CEO leaders doing business in ways that lead to a more inclusive and sustainable economy to generate positive social and environmental impact.
WHO WE ARE
"Featured in Innovate Miami book as Social Innovator for promoting the SDGs"
Social Impact Movement was founded in 2016 as Florida Nonprofit Corporation and in 2017 registered as a 501(c)(3) Federal Tax Exempt with the mission to connect people to social-related topics. After a year of interacting and working, we understood we could play an important role by linking Miami to the global conversation. We decided to step up, taking the challenge – and the opportunity – to act for the social change movement.
The Agenda 2030 framework was incorporated in early 2018 at our core mission. Our programs raise awareness, educate, and inspire our community to be the actors of social change on topics affecting our economy, our society, and our environment. Social Impact Movement SDGs programs educate and bring awareness through CSR events, workshops, live activations, and social media.
Social Impact Movement builds partnerships to promote social change in Miami by highlighting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Connecting business leaders, enterprises, organizations, and government, linking local social responsibility actions to the global goals.
We raise awareness on issues affecting our community and educate individuals about SDG themes related to: quality education, gender equality, climate action and life below water.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create a positive social impact on a global scale by fostering collaboration and inclusivity among all stakeholders. We aim to empower individuals and communities worldwide with the knowledge and resources needed to address pressing global issues, while also inspiring and integrating stakeholders in our efforts.
Through our work, we envision a world where people are aware of the challenges facing our planet and take meaningful action towards creating a more just, equitable, and sustainable future. We strive to build a global community of change-makers who are passionate about making a difference, and who work together to create lasting impact.
At the heart of our vision is a commitment to empowering individuals and communities to take action on issues such as climate change, poverty, inequality, and social justice. By working together across borders and cultures, we believe that we can create a brighter future for all.
Our Mission
Our Mission is to create a more just, equitable, and sustainable world by elevating the education and awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among individuals, organizations, and communities worldwide. We believe that by increasing knowledge and understanding of the SDGs, we can inspire and empower people to take action towards achieving a more sustainable and equitable future.
To achieve our mission, we aim to converge ideas, people, information, and resources related to the SDGs and to foster collaboration among stakeholders. We believe that by linking and highlighting SDG initiatives taking place around the world, we can create a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices, and inspire people to take action in their own communities.
Education and collaboration are at the heart of our mission. We strive to create events, workshops, and other educational resources that facilitate an interactive dialogue among stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and sectors. By elevating SDG education and fostering collaboration among individuals, organizations, and communities, we can generate innovative solutions and take collective action towards creating positive social impact.
